Dim Sum: A Little Bit of Heart DVD

From director Wayne Wang ('The Joy Luck Club'), 'Dim Sum: A Little Bit of Heart' is a slice-of-life comedy about shifting relationships and the conflict between traditional and contemporary values, and is a charming follow-up to 'Chan is Missing'.

Set amidst San Francisco's Chinatown community, the film focuses on the relationship between Mrs Tam (Kim Chew), a traditional Chinese woman in her 60s and the thirty-something daughter (Lauren Chew) she wishes to marry off.

A beautiful yet understated portrait of ordinary people living surprisingly complex lives; Wang's sense of character and place is exceptional. Affectionate and poignant, this is a genuine gem.
