Sally El Hosaini won the 'Best Newcomer Award' at the London Film Festival. The MY BROTHER THE DEVIL director and screenwriter fought off stiff competition from Fady Elsayed who stars in the film.
The prize jury president, David Heyman, said: "Sally El Hosaini's writing and direction displayed a remarkable maturity. The film transcended its genre with lyricism and tenderness and possessed a wonderful emotional truth.".

The estate was always controversial and became a symbol of urban decay, but also proved to be a venue of high art. All at Verve Pictures were very sad to hear of the tragic death of Vidal Sassoon yesterday.

We greatly enjoyed working with him last year - he was a wonderful man, very kind and an inspirational figure. We all feel very privileged to have met him.

The 84 year-old Vidal Sassoon CBE, passed away at his home in Los Angeles on 9th May. He will be greatly missed by his wife of 20 years Ronnie, his children, grandchildren, family and friends.
